KSU PRESIDENT'S RESIDENCE REMODEL
Kansas State University - Manhattan, Kansas
1,600 Square Feet
The Ebert Mayo Design Group provided interior design services for a complete kitchen and powder room remodel of the President’s Residence at Kansas State University.
The existing undersized kitchen was reconfigured to provide an open plan concept, better suiting the needs of regular daily use as well as catering for special events.  A 12' long island with a granite countertop provides a focal point to the room, as well as much needed counter space. Solid oak flooring stained to match the adjacent rooms, accent light fixtures, subway tile backsplash and cabinet hardware were all selected to compliment the original 1923 English country-style design. A new patio door and large window were installed to accommodate the new layout, as well as to match the style of the existing windows.
The small, outdated powder room was combined with a underutilized hall closet to increase space and be more accessible for guests.  Wood wainscotting and base was installed to replicate the original living and dining rooms.  New carpet was also installed throughout the basement to replace worn and water damaged flooring.
