WIEST HALL REPLACEMENT HOUSING
Fort Hays State University - Hays, Kansas
142,000 SF
Wiest Replacement Housing will replace 50-year-old Wiest Hall. The project consists of Building A, which is located in the residential zone of the main campus, and Building B (also known as a themed residence), located near Lewis Field.
Building A consists of a four-story building with administrative and support functions centrally located on the first floor flanked by two secured residential communities. The upper three floors each house four residential communities.
Building B consists of one three-story structure and has four separate living communities, each with its own main entrance and unique character. The living units are each secure from the other units.
Food service for the residents is provided at a central kitchen/dining facility (McMindes Hall) serving on-campus residents. As a part of this project, an addition to the dining facility was constructed to accommodate the increased number of residents.
