KANSAS JET CENTER
Manhattan Regional Airport - Manhattan, Kansas
5,000 Square Feet
Kansas Jet Center, the Fixed Base Operator (FBO) was relocated to the east side of the Manhattan Regional Airport due to the airline passenger terminal expansion. The Ebert Mayo Design Group was part of the Design-Build team working closely with both the tenant and contractor to provide a functional facility for the user while maintaining the project budget.
The exterior architectural design incorporates aviation elements into the roof and clerestory windows. The two main arrival points to the facility include a ground-side entrance for vehicular traffic, and an air-side entrance for general aviation aircraft.
Interior public spaces include a lobby, waiting area and snack bar, conference room, flight planning alcove and restroom facilities. Employee spaces are comprised of a customer service area, business offices and line-tech spaces. The building also features a pilot's lounge area and adjacent quiet room, as well as locker and shower rooms that also function as a storm shelter.
