Mixed Use Building - Manhattan, Kansas
12,500 Square Feet
The Ebert Mayo Design Group was selected to design a mixed use project following a design competition conducted by a Manhattan-based developer. The selection was based on the design's ability to maximize the site usage, generate leasable floor area exceeding the program requirement, and creation of a design reflecting the character of the historic Aggieville commercial district, while generating visually intriguing mass-void relationships between the various uses.
Loft units are 900 SF, and apartment units are 756 SF. Both have one bedroom, a full-service kitchen, laundry, and walk-in closets.
Commercial tenants include a restaurant, a sports bar, and a hair salon/spa all located on the ground floor. The restaurant and sports bar have access to al fresco dining facing the busier commercial street. Apartments are accessed from the parking lot or the more private "side-street."
The project anchors the east end of a two-block long student-oriented commercial shopping and dining district adjacent to Kansas State University.
